  • Your 10 Fav screenplays

At the drop of a hat, most of us could pull out "my top 250 movies of all time". What about your ten favorite screenplays?

    8: The American President
    7) Misery
    6) Three days of the Condor
    5) Dog Day Afternoon
    4) Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    3) African Queen
    2) Cool Hand Luke
    1) To Kill a Mockingbird

Don't forget All the President's Men. Goldman's writing is so fluid. His literary voice, it's like you hear him telling you the story. I look forward to hear what he has to say at the CS Expo in Nov..

I'm reading Collateral now by Stuart Beattie. Solid.

      In no particular order:

      Slackers by David H. Steinberg
The Color of the Puck by Mark Golik (unproduced - available on Zoetrope)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? by Jeffrey Price and Peter S. Seaman
Being John Malkovich by Charlie Kaufman

There's four, I can't really think of that many right now. I've mainly been reading a lot of unproduced CRAP lately, so it has cluttered my mind.

I've also read some good unproduced stuff, like The Color of the Puck, but most of it doesn't stand out as my favorites.

        In no particular order:

Charlie Kaufman's work (I'm counting all of it as one entry)
        DOG DAY AFTERNOON
        CHINATOWN
        THE SEVENTH SEAL
        THE THING
        UNFORGIVEN
        BARTON FINK
        A CLOCKWORK ORANGE
        JACOB'S LADDER
        GROUNDHOG DAY

Some runners up: GHOST, TAXI DRIVER, THE GAME, PI, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, SEVEN, THE SIXTH SENSE, THE LAST SAMURAI, HOAX, FALLEN, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, THE ENGLISH PATIENT (for the prose as much as anything... liked the script, didn't like the movie), DIE HARD

Probably some (or a lot) I'm forgetting.
