I'm guesting next month on a podcast called Fire & Water. Not sure when it will drop. But it's a podcast devoted to MASH and delving into specific episodes. They had gotten to our first, "Out of Sight/Out of Mind" and that's why they invited me. But it brought back a lot of memories....

IP & Standing Out In A Crowd
    by Bono
What ways in 2022 are you thinking of using IP to get your work seen, read or bought? I was listening to a manager on a podcast talk about how it's all a form of "vetting." How referrals, contest wins, an idea being popular in book or video game or other media forms -- is all a way for managers...

    The Tender Bar
    by bioprofessor
I enjoyed this. Directed by George Clooney. Character-driven with a good theme. Ben Affleck and Christopher Loyd are the notables, but lots of really good performances. Plus, I liked that the first credit to appear was, "Screenplay by, William Monahan."

OMG! The kid star in the...

Do all movies need to have a message?
    by Acooljt
I was looking through a screenwriting website earlier on how to structure your story and it stated something along the lines of plotting your message in the first act, yada yada yada. My question is, does a movie have to have a point or a message? Can’t it just be to entertain? I’d hate to force...

    Using Emotional Dichotomies
    by bioprofessor
That's a terrible title, but what I'm referring to is the writer's strategy of alternating the emotional tone of scenes/sequences to keep the reader on edge and therefore engaged, i.e. a rollercoaster vs a long smooth trolly ride. I noticed this recently while binge watching episodes of Netflix's "Dead...
